Politikusok mentális egészségéről nyilatkozni etikai kérdés is

Attól függetlenül, hogy Donald Trump vagy Orbán Viktor mennyire egészséges mentálisan, felmerülhet: hasznosak-e ezek az elemzések; rendben van-e, ha szakemberek személyes vizsgálat nélkül nárcisztikusnak vagy akár skizofrénnek diagnosztizálnak politikusokat? Az USA-ban évtizedek óta zajlik az ezzel kapcsolatos vita, amelyben pszichológusok, pszichiáterek, újságírók, publicisták ütköztetik érveiket és hivatkoznak egymással ellentétes elvekre. Nálunk ez (egyelőre) nem jellemző.

Szabó Mónika, a Magyar Pszichológusok Érdekvédelmi Egyesülete és a Magyar Pszichológiai Társaság Etikai Bizottságának társelnöke kérdésemre válaszolva elmondta, hogy tudomása szerint nincs még széles körű, nyílt szakmai diskurzus azzal kapcsolatban, hogy a pszichológusok nyilvánosan miként fogalmazhatnak meg állításokat a politikusok mentális állapotáról. Ugyanakkor rámutatott: a Szakmai Etikai Kódex 4.6. pontja egyértelműen leírja, hogy bizonyos pszichológiai tevékenységek „csak a klienssel való személyes vizsgálatban szerzett eredmények alapján végezhetők”. Ez alapján tehát konkrét személyekről (kliensről vagy akár közszereplőről) szakvéleményt adni pszichológiai eszközökkel történő személyes vizsgálat nélkül szakmai hiba és etikátlan magatartás.
